DevOps synthesises three bodies of knowledge: Lean, Agile, and ITSM.

Troy DuMoulin keeps trying to convince me that DevOps is just Lean with a coat of paint :)
I'm willing to agree DevOps is made of Lean.

DevOps has three parents: Lean, Agile, and ITSM. It draws ideas from all three:

I'd agree with Troy that Lean is the most influential (flow, systems, iteration etc).
Agile brings a Build focus and the rebel/disruptive mindset.
ITSM brings experience, pragmatism, governance, and structure.

Discuss.
