The corporate yoke

The symbolism of a company-branded lanyard and ID card hung around my neck is too potent for me. I'll do all I can to avoid wearing it. When the only option proffered is a logo-covered lanyard - no belt clip option - it says it all to me.

© Copyright CanStockPhoto.comIt seems to me that even the necessity to always display an ID involves more than mere security. I got through layers of electronic security to get inside the fortress. The necessity to display The Mark is as much about one-ness and tribalism as it is about security. They should institute secret hand signals as well.

I'll keep my little flag waving at all times if I must. But around my neck like a branded ox? Nope, this one's going on a clip on my shirt pocket.
