Applications closing very soon for roles with itSMF IT Service Management research journal

itSMF International has announced an IT Service Management research journal. I just noticed that "Applications close on the 12th July 2008 at midnight" for "researcher, reviewer, sponsor, or member of the editorial board".

Since itSMF still has no global single channel of communication to members you may not have heard. If interested, get on it quick.

The itSMF International will be publishing a research journal for the IT Service Management community. The journal will provide an independent platform for the publication, and debate, of original, high quality, peer-reviewed research into aspects of IT Service Management. In time it is hoped that the journal will be in a position to suggest and sponsor lines of enquiry for research and keep a register of research in progress.

The Journal is aimed at the global community and will be registered as an academic journal with the appropriate bodies. The Journal will be owned by the itSMF International and will accept sponsorship and advertising, but will maintain a strictly independent editorial board.

The first phase of implementation is a consultation exercise. This will establish a committee to define the editorial policy and business model for the Journal. Once this has been established, an editorial board will be appointed.

The itSMF International is seeking stakeholders in Service Management research to assist with the consultation.

If you have an interest in Academic research into Service Management, and might be able to offer your services as a researcher, reviewer, sponsor, or member of the editorial board, please send an e-mail to journal@itsmfi.org, including your CV, and a brief description of how you would be able to contribute.

Please circulate this notice to anybody who might be in a position to help, particularly anybody in the academic world involved with IT Service Management.

Applications close on the 12th July 2008 at midnight GMT.
