Where's the COBIT 5 training?

Here we go again. COBIT 5 is hot: the industry itches to get using it. APMG is signed up to roll out the training programme. The ITIL V3 training courses faced a similar situation a few years back. The ITIL training courses (also administered by APMG) came out later than promised, much to the frustration of an industry busting to put it to work. Now we see the same thing again with COBIT 5. Rattle your dags, ISACA and APMG!

In August last year an ISACA press release made the following predictions:

The COBIT 5 courses and expected availability dates include:

  • Foundation Level Training and Certificate—November 2012
  • Process Level Training and Certificate—December 2012
  • Implementation Level Training and Certificate—January 2013
  • Assessment Level Training and Certification—January 2013

Well, it's March and we've only seen the Foundations course so far. Wassup? I guess COBIT isn't a project management framework.

P.S. what we DID see in January is the assessment programme for COBIT5 (including self-assessment) which is cool. Imagine if ITIL had one.
