These are the people who give ITIL a bad name

I'm fed up to here with folk shooting the message. ITIL works. It's good (not necessarily great but it is good. It will do, it's fit for purpose.) Most of the backlash against ITIL is because of the idiots running around with some strange ideas about ITIL. [To be clear: the original post refered to "implementing ITIL" but that isn't the specific focus of this. It's about anyone with screwy ideas ]. It's the messengers with odd ideas about ITIL that are the problem: executives, managers, practitioners, consultants, vendors ... These are the people who give ITIL a bad name. Please share your real-life anecdotes in the comments.
