The trainers actually delivering ITIL version 3 Foundations certification training are NOT HAPPY

APMG are you reading this?

The message is coming through on this blog loud and clear: the trainers actually delivering ITIL version 3 Foundations training are NOT HAPPY.

The IT Skeptic blog is about debating ideas not personalities

We saw an extraordinary venting of bile on this blog yesterday by an anonymous visitor I label Stone-caster. Normally I would ignore it, but it makes accusations of hypocrisy and dishonesty that I feel should be addressed.

I reproduce it in full:

Visions of the Future of ITIL: the IT Swami's Seventh and Final Vision

Now, the final of the IT Swami's mid-year Visions of the Future of ITIL. Previously we had six other visions starting with the First.

Here is the ultimate seventh Vision:

Lies, damned lies and statistics: adoption of ITIL

Seems like about a third of organisations in the USA have adopted ITIL and another third plan to [when the survey doesn't mention country it usually means the USA, which remains oblivious to the rest of the world: World Cup baseball anyone?]. And only 6% have a single CMDB, or I should now say CMS.

The Official Introduction to the ITIL Service Lifecycle shipping as planned

Just confirming that "The Official Introduction to the ITIL Service Lifecycle" will ship as planned the end of this month, i.e. Friday. Get it while it's hot!

Establish a name for yourself as a thought-leader in ITSM

It is not too late to submit content for “IT Service Management - Global Best Practices”. I think this is a good idea and I've heard good things about the previous version. This is an excellent opportunity to share some of your IP and to establish a name for yourself as a thought-leader in ITSM. A number of readers of this blog obviously have what it takes to produce a chapter of this book.

Visions of the Future of ITIL: Sixth Vision

The IT Swami gives us his mid-year Visions of the Future of ITIL. Previously we had five other visions starting with the First.

The fourth and fifth visions were about

...three fates awaiting the ITIL: one pleasant, two not so. First fate: the ITIL walks the road of knowledge, seeking enlightenment...But there is a second outcome: a stubborn ITIL, fighting those it meets on the road...In the end the ITIL is dying, quickly and brutally, slain by one that is stronger, kicked into the ditch.

Now here is the sixth:

Visions of the Future of ITIL: Fifth Vision

The IT Swami gives us his mid-year Visions of the Future of ITIL. Previously we had the First, Second,, Third and Fourth Visions.
The story so far:

my visions of today: the crowd in the desert, the gorilla and the pig, and the closed castle... let us be examining the fate of the ITIL...I can see three fates awaiting the ITIL: one pleasant, two not so. First fate: the ITIL walks the road of knowledge, seeking enlightenment...How great is the joy and the glory!

Now here is the Fifth Vision:

A special thank-you to all you readers

Today I'd like to say a special thank-you to all you readers who follow this blog, and especially to those who contribute so generously of your knowledge and opinions.

The IT Skeptic has dropped anonymity: identity revealed

Yup. It is time to drop the veil of anonymity. While it was a good idea at the start of this blog it is becoming a constraint.
